{"id":5548,"date":"2024-06-23T21:13:31","date_gmt":"2024-06-23T21:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/khabarok.com\/business\/delhi-metro-update-new-delhi-metro-station-to-have-three-interchanges-as-green-line-expands\/"},"modified":"2024-06-23T21:13:31","modified_gmt":"2024-06-23T21:13:31","slug":"delhi-metro-update-new-delhi-metro-station-to-have-three-interchanges-as-green-line-expands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/khabarok.com\/?p=5548","title":{"rendered":"Delhi Metro Update: New Delhi metro station to have three interchanges as Green Line expands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div property=\"content:encoded\">\n<p>Officials announced on Sunday, June 23 that the New Delhi Metro station would become a triple interchange facility once the Green Line is expanded from Inderlok to Indraprastha.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a significant connectivity boost for the entire city, as commuters from Bahadurgarh and other parts of west Delhi, such as Nangloi, Rajdhani Park, and Udyog Nagar, will now be able to travel directly to the New Delhi railway station, which is adjacent to the New Delhi Metro station, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 12.37 km long Inderlok \u2013 Indraprastha corridor will expand the already operational Brigadier Hoshiar Singh \u2013 Inderlok Green Line corridor (28.78 km),&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n<p>The New Delhi station will be developed as an interchange facility for three lines &#8211; Yellow, Orange (Airport Line), and now the Green Line, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>This will make access to the New Delhi station more convenient and help decrease congestion near the station as more people will prefer to travel by metro than by road, they said.<\/p>\n<p>Like the existing New Delhi station, the new expansion for the Green Line shall also be underground. Presently, Kashmere Gate is the only triple interchange station on the Delhi Metro network where the Yellow, Red, and Violet lines meet. After Phase 4, three more stations, Lajpat Nagar, Azadpur, and New Delhi will also emerge as triple interchange facilities, they said.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, about 86 kilometers of new lines are being constructed as part of the Delhi Metro&#8217;s Phase 4 expansion. Construction of three lines \u2013 Janakpuri West \u2013 RK Ashram Marg (Violet), Majlis Park \u2013 Maujpur (Pink), and Aerocity &#8211; Tughlakabad (Golden) is in progress right now, and over 50 per cent of civil work has been completed on these sections, the officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Two more corridors \u2014 Inderlok \u2013 Indraprastha and Saket G Block \u2013 Lajpat Nagar \u2014 have also received approval earlier this year.
