Recovering from the shock of a devastating defeat in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)\u2018s President Y S Jagan Reddy began a postmortem on what led to his party\u2019s debacle.<\/p>\n
While no one expected a smooth sailing for Reddy and his party in the elections, the total rout of the party with securing only 11 seats out of 175 came as a \u2018surprise\u2019 to the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh who had managed to win 151 out of 175 seats in 2019 elections which dislodged the then ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from power.<\/p>\n
Reddy had long-discussions with the senior leaders, winners and losers of his party at his residence at Tadepalli\u00a0to find out why a huge welfare disbursal to the tune of \u20b94.49-lakh crore during 2019-2024 did not bring him back to power.<\/p>\n
In a frank talk which was unusual earlier among the party the leaders, according to reliable\u00a0sources,\u00a0told their\u00a0leaders that the volunteers on whom\u00a0the government and party depended to come back to power had actually dominated other local institutions such as village panchayats and led to resentment\u00a0among the party cadre at the grassroots level.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nParty\u2019s high-handedness

The \u2018high-handedness\u2019 of some officials in the CMO of Reddy was also blamed for keeping \u2018an iron curtain\u2019 between Reddy and his party MLAs, who could not even meet him to convey the local issues and challenges of the party.<\/p>\n
The damage\u00a0done by an overdose of personal criticism\u00a0with unparliamentary language by some leaders\/ministers\u00a0including\u00a0Kodali Nani, actress-politician\u00a0Roja and Ambati Rambabu on TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan also back fired, felt some leaders.<\/p>\n
\u00a0While admitting that the loss was \u2018immense and unprecedented\u2019, Reddy assured his partymen that the party would \u2018strike back\u2019 in the 2029 elections.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jagan Reddy is also back on social media platform X alleging \u2018atrocities\u2019 against YSRCP activists and a \u2018decline\u2019 in law and order situation\u00a0in the State.<\/p>\n
