{"id":15342,"date":"2024-09-18T17:00:08","date_gmt":"2024-09-18T17:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/khabarok.com\/business\/15342\/"},"modified":"2024-09-18T17:00:08","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T17:00:08","slug":"advance-tax-collection-up-22-so-far-in-fy25-tops-45-of-budget-estimate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/khabarok.com\/?p=15342","title":{"rendered":"Advance tax collection up 22% so far in FY25, tops 45% of Budget Estimate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"content-body-68656743\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p>With advance tax collections rising over 22 per cent, the Income Tax Department\u2019s direct tax mop-up topped 45 per cent of the Budget Estimate for the period April 1 to September 17, government data released on Wednesday showed.<\/p>\n<p>With this, the government is hopeful of meeting or even exceeding the tax collection target for the year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"img-full-width\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bl-i.thgim.com\/public\/incoming\/nt13cs\/article68657212.ece\/alternates\/FREE_660\/pic1.jpg\" data-original=\"https:\/\/bl-i.thgim.com\/public\/incoming\/nt13cs\/article68657212.ece\/alternates\/FREE_660\/pic1.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-device-variant=\"FREE~FREE~FREE~FREE\" class=\" lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/div>\n<h5 class=\"sub_head\">\nEase of compliance<br \/>\n<\/h5>\n<p>Though the Department did not give any reason for the growth in the collection, it is believed that ease of compliance and lower rates under the new tax regime along with a rise in incomes pushed the net direct tax (gross collection minus refund) mop-up by over 16 per cent to \u20b99.96-lakh crore. The government estimates to collect over \u20b922-lakh crore through direct taxes in FY25, and has managed to get nearly \u20b910-lakh crore in a little over five-and-half months.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"sub_head\">\nCorporate IT surge<br \/>\n<\/h5>\n<p>Under the period under consideration, advance tax collection post the second instalment rose to over \u20b94.36- lakh crore from \u20b93.55-lakh crore, a growth of 22.6 per cent. While the Corporate IT surged by 39 per cent, Personal IT rose over 18 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The IT Department also highlighted that the net collection was up despite the jump in refunds.
