In a measure of development for the Mumbai Metro, the central government set to rename several metro stations on Line-3 (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ) following a request from the Government of Maharashtra, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said on September 19, 2024.
The government will rename 27 major metro stations such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Metro, Shitala Devi Mandir, and Girgaon. It aims to enhance local relevance and community connection.
However, the Ministry has not disclosed the new names of these metro stations.
